Milky Way image by A. Spadaro

Milky Way core over the sea in Sicily (Italy)

Our astrophotographer A.Spadaro is just came back from his vacations in Sicily (an island on southern Italy). During his journey he was under really dark skies and decided to use the modified camera from Sanderphil to take a wide field image of the milky way core. This is one of the regions which we can’t image from sanderphil due to its very low altitude. The photo was taken without using any particular astronomy equipment but just by using a normal photographic tripod and slow exposure times (20s) with a relative high iso (3200). The optics used were mid range zooms, in particular this photo is taken at 24mm.
